9/11 Memorial & Museum Run/Walk 2022

April 24, 2022

9/11 DAY
The mission of 9/11 Day is to permanently take the day back from the terrorists, turning the 20th anniversary of 9/11 in a worldwide day of unity, peace and doing good.

Founded in 1985, the New York Police and Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund, also known as Answer the Call, provides immediate and ongoing financial assistance to the families of our NYPD, FDNY, and PAPD heroes killed in the line of duty. Answer the Call believes the best way to honor our fallen heroes is to help those they loved the most - their families.

The FDNY Foundation, established in 1981, is the official not-for-profit of the New York City Fire Department (FDNY). Our mission is to promote fire and life safety education and help the FDNY better protect New York. The FDNY Foundation funds programs that advance the FDNY's goals, which include maintaining operational excellence, reaching out to the community with an array of fire and life safety programs, and ensuring that our firefighters and EMS personnel have the best available training and equipment.

HEART 9/11
HEART 9/11 is a team of responders - FDNY, NYPD, PAPD and the NYC Building Trades - that bonded in the aftermath of September 11, 2001 to honor the sacrifices of brave colleagues and family members lost, to continue to utilize their experience and training in service to others, and to bring a message of hope to communities affected by disaster. HEART 9/11's mission is to: Respond immediately to natural and man-mad disasters; Rebuild community centers in hard-hit areas to meet grass roots needs; Recover by building resiliency for individuals, families and communities.

The Pat Tillman Foundation unites and empowers a diverse community of remarkable service members, veterans and military spouses as the next generation of leaders. Our Tillman Scholars are making an impact in their communities and around the world as they carry on Pat Tillman's legacy of service beyond self and leadership through action.

Stars of HOPE is a therapeutic art program that was created after 9/11 by the New York Says Thank You Foundation and has been a longtime supporter of the annual 9/11 Memorial & Museum Run/Walk. Participants paint wooden stars with messages of hope that we send on to disaster sites in need of those messages.

Tuesday's Children provides a lifetime of healing for families who have been forever changed by terrorism, military conflict, or mass violence.
