ABOUT THE 9/11 MEMORIAL & MUSEUM 5K RUN/WALK

On Sunday, April 30, 2023, thousands will once again come together in lower Manhattan to remember all those killed over 20 years ago and honor the heroes who put their own lives at risk to save others. Their stories of service, sacrifice, resilience and hope can be our sources of strength in the face of present-day challenges.

The 9/11 Memorial & Museum 5K Run/Walk, presented by RXR, is for runners and walkers of all ages. The event begins at 8:00 a.m. at Brookfield Place in Battery Park, and takes participants through scenic Battery Park along the waterfront esplanade with iconic views of One World Trade Center and the Statue of Liberty, before finishing on Greenwich Street adjacent to the 9/11 Memorial Plaza.

Register today to take part in this meaningful event. All funds raised from the 2022 5K support educational programming to ensure the millions of Americans born since 9/11 can better understand how we responded that day and in the days that followed – with unity, resilience, and hope.

There are rewards and prizes to encourage you to fundraise and all participants will receive complimentary Museum admission with their event bib, as well as the official 5K t-shirt. 

Your fundraising ensures that the 9/11 Memorial remains free and accessible to all who wish to visit it. You can help the 9/11 Memorial Museum deliver more educational programming, including virtual field trips and teacher training, ensuring that future generations learn the lessons of 9/11 and better understand the world in which they live.
