For those that don't know, Temenos USA had two office in WTC 1. One of the 84th floor (where I worked) and one of the 52nd floor. Fortunately all of us survived that day physically. A few former colleagues simply never returned. We were the lucky ones and as everyone knows, not everyone had the same good fortune. In fact Middletown NJ where I live apparently had the greatest number of casualties that day.

That’s why on Sunday, April 27, one of my daughters and I will be joining the thousands of race participants in lower Manhattan to remember those killed over two decades ago and to honor the courageous first responders who ran toward danger to save others. I saw the fire trucks and police arrive. I saw them run in. All these years later I realize those were the most awe inspiring and selfless actions I have ever seen.

I also think it is important to keep the memorial and museum funded so that the millions of Americans who weren't even alive that day can truly learn what happened.
